Write for us
We welcome pitches that make the details of local performance easier to see: how a venue shapes a show, why a stage choice works, or what an audience custom carries. Bring a distinct subject, a clear point and a useful angle for curious readers.
What makes a good pitch
A strong proposal names its subject, explains the central idea and shows why it suits Local Stage Journal. We favour focused evergreen pieces that can stand on their own, avoid specialist claims that need professional verification, and offer readers a fresh way to understand a performance space or stage choice. Please say whether the idea is original and whether it has appeared elsewhere.
A clear, careful approach
We value precise language, fair treatment of different approaches and an eye for how a choice affects performers and audiences. Do not send confidential material, unsupported claims or work that depends on rules varying by location. We may ask for revision, and a pitch is not a promise of publication.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page to send a short pitch with a working title, a brief summary and a little context about your approach. Please do not submit a complete article unless requested. We review proposals for fit, clarity and usefulness.
